Recalls occur when a vehicle manufacturer discovers that a part of the vehicle is faulty and/or potentially dangerous. When hazardous situations are noticed, the manufacturer will summon the car owners whom the recall affects and request that they return the car. The recall is often followed by remedies which include bringing your vehicle in to our service center at Jaguar Fort Wayne and having us fix the errant part or offering a replacement altogether. Unfortunately, some recalls have been made after very serious car accidents have occurred. In some of these cases, the dysfunctional parts were discovered by motorists.

There are two common types of recalls that a manufacturer issues and they are almost always corrected at the expense of the carmaker. Recalls usually center around emissions and safety issues, and the recalls can be made by a Technical Service Bulletin, a voluntary recall, or a mandatory recall. A TSB is distributed to dealerships to prepare them for an increase in service-related calls due to a forthcoming recall. Voluntary recalls could occur in an effort to offset a particular issue before it becomes dangerous on Fort Wayne, IN roads. The strongest recall is a mandatory one in which a dangerous defect has been determined and involves the oversight of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
